The Maple Syrup Farm is just around the corner! Our contracts are done and website modifications are underway.
This farm introduces a new Boosting feature where staking Maple-WMATIC LP tokens can boost the rewards of all other pools by up to 2x normal rewards and yield Syrup token.
The boost design takes inspiration from Curve.fi except without having to lock your LP tokens. Meaning you can withdraw or stake more to change the boosting levels without restrictions.
The amount of staking required to receive the maximum 2x boost is roughly 50% of total amount stake on a pool. (These numbers are still being tweaked) For example in the USDC Pool:
- User stakes $1000 USDC
- User stakes $250 USD worth of Maple / WMATIC LP token
- Boosted bonus = 1.5x base rewards
Or
- User stakes $1000 USDC
- User stakes $500 USD worth of Maple / WMATIC LP token
- Boosted bonus = 2.0x base rewards
An optimal strategy would be to stake in multiple pools since the boost multiplier will be equal across all pools. For example, a user stakes in the USDC and ETH pool and receives 2.0x boost in both pools:
- User stakes $1000 USDC
- User stakes $500 USD worth of Maple / WMATIC LP token
- Boosted bonus = 2.0x base rewards
AND
- User stakes 0.5 ETH (=$1000 USD)
- User stakes $500 USD worth of Maple / WMATIC LP token
- Boosted bonus = 2.0x base rewards
Lastly, as a reminder, Maple Token will be capped on June 30th. The token will become deflationary, and supply will continue to decrease through 5% burn per transaction.
This latest farm follows PolyMaple’s strategy to introduce incremental changes and idea’s to organically grow. Some idea will take flight and some less so. This is part of the organic process.
UPDATE — Notes regarding these examples:
- The actual calculations for boosted reward is more complex and the cost to boost is not constant. It depends on the price of the Maple / WMATIC LP token & the pool’s token.
- If the Maple / WMATIC LP token goes up in value then a higher USD amount of Maple / WMATIC LP token is need to reach max boost and vice versa
